YOUTH SOCCER – 2024 Season
Join the Gridley Recreation Youth Soccer League!
The Gridley Recreation Division will be accepting Recreation Youth Soccer registrations for the Fall 2024 league at the Gridley Recreation Center (Monday-Thursday 9am – 2pm) at 194 Washington Street (in Vierra Park) or at City Hall (Monday-Friday 8am-4pm) 685 Kentucky Street.
Early Coach Registration Dates:
Early Coach Registration April 15th – April 26th *Limited Spots Available
COACH INCENTIVE: All parents who volunteer to coach will receive ONE FREE registration. Must be able to pass a Live Scan to participate.
Coaching Registrations are only accepted at the Recreation Department
(Coaching Registration accepted after April 26th if spots are available)
Registration Events:
Gridley Residents Only Sign-Up Day - Saturday April 27th at Recreation Center 2:00pm-6:00pm
Red Suspenders Day Booth- Saturday May 18th 8:00am-3:00pm (everyone eligible to register)
Final Registration Night- Thursday May 23rd at Recreation Center 5:30pm-8:30pm
Registration Fees/Dates:
Registration fee is $60.00 for your first child, with a $5 reduction for each additional child (discount applies to siblings only). Late Registration will be an additional $10.
GRIDLEY RESIDENTS ONLY Registration: April 27th thru May 17th
EVERYONE Registration: May 18th thru July 9th
Late Registration: July 10th thru July 17th
Due to the necessary administrative coordination and to provide coaches sufficient preparation time, no registration will be accepted after July 17th, 2024.
ELGIBILTY: The league is open to any children in the following divisions:
4-year-old Division (Age 4 by September 5th, 2024)
U6 Division (Age 5 or 6 by September 5th, 2024)
U8 Division (Age 7 or 8 by September 5th, 2024)
U10 Division (Age 9 or 10 by September 5th, 2024)
Girls U12/14 Division (Age 11-14 by September 5th, 2024)
Boys U12/14 Division (Age 11/14 by September 5th, 2024)
Teams will be constructed at random. To properly accommodate all participants, the Gridley Recreation Division will not honor requests for certain coaches or children to be placed in specific teams. The Division is open to discussion of special circumstances. However, please note the Gridley Recreation Division will STRICTLY ENFORCE this policy.

The Gridley Recreation Division will be accepting Recreation Youth Basketball registrations for the Winter 2025 in October 2024 at the Gridley Recreation Center (Monday-Thursday 9am – 2pm) at 194 Washington Street (in Vierra Park) or at City Hall (Monday-Friday 8am-4pm) 685 Kentucky Street.

SENIOR PROGRAM
Anyone 60 and older is welcome to come join us at the Recreation Center for a relaxing morning of comradery and entertainment.
On Monday and Wednesday, we play various card and board games and on Tuesday and Thursday we serve a FREE breakfast for seniors 60+ followed by several rounds of BINGO! Each bingo card is $.05, and the winner gets to take home the pot of change. We end the morning with BLACKOUT where each card is $.25 each and the winner takes it home!

Gridley Recreation promotes quality recreational, cultural, and outdoor experiences for the Gridley community and our visitors. Gridley Park Locations
Manuel Vierra Park is located between the far south ends of Haskell and Washington Streets. The 13.5 acre Park offers huge areas of shaded grass under a grove of oak trees. Park facilities include a new Splash Pad, updated restrooms, playground equipment, tennis courts, barbecue facilities, benches and tables, and baseball and softball diamonds. Gridley Little League baseball games are played here. The Park also has a fenced area for children's birthday parties.
Nick Daddow Park is located at Hazel and Virginia Streets. The stunning landmark underwent a complete rehabilitation in 2017. The one acre Downtown Park has a gazebo, picnic tables, and barbecue facilities. Free concerts are often held at the gazebo. The Park is the central site of the Annual Red Suspenders Day event.
Gridley Rotary Park is located on Washington Street between Sycamore and Magnolia Streets. The one acre Park has shade trees, grass and picnic tables. The weekly Farmers' Market is held at Rotary Park.
Skateboard Park is located at the intersection of Washington Street and Spruce Street. The large modern facility is well used and safely maintained.
Railroad Park is located along Washington Street at Hazel near the Downtown. The recently upgraded Park includes picnic benches, shade trees, and a barbeque area.
Quota Park Just across the street from Railroad Park to the south is Quota Park. This beautiful landscaped area was also completed due to the hard work and dedication of this local organization. The Park is a tranquil sitting area that includes a beautiful fountain, benches, and tables.
Boat Launch Park includes a new boat ramp and dock, restrooms, lighting, and a fish cleaning table. It's located three miles east of Gridley on East Gridley Road.
Trails The Heron Landing Neighborhood includes a 1 mile trail. The Eagle Meadows Neighborhood includes a half mile trail that circles the Eagle Meadow Park.
Nearby Recreation The Gridley area is a sportsman's haven. Excellent hunting, fishing and naturalist opportunities are available on private and public lands. The Gray Lodge Wildlife Waterfowl Management Area is located just 10 miles southwest of Gridley. Its 8,400 acres form some of the most intensively used and developed wetlands in the entire Pacific Flyway. Gridley is within minutes of the exceptional recreational facilities available at Lake Oroville. Lake Oroville and the Oroville Afterbay feed into the clear rolling waters of the Feather River, which provides some of the best salmon fishing in the state.
