The Human Resources Division strives to provide a safe, healthy, and positive working environment for our City of Gridley employees. The Division's primary responsibilities include benefits administration, classification and compensation, labor and employee relations, recruitment and selection, organizational development and training, and workers compensation administration.  Human Resources also serves as a resource for former Gridley employees, potential new employees through the recruitment and selection process, and other government agencies.

Police Officer (Lateral) Recruitment

The City of Gridley, a vibrant and charming community with 7,000 residents, 60 miles north of Sacramento, is seeking to hire additional Police Officers (Lateral).  The salary range is $4,143 - $5,291 Per Month. The City offers an attractive benefits package including CalPERS Retirement, medical (with minimal employee contribution), dental, and vision. The City does not participate in Social Security. 

This is an outstanding opportunity!  Necessary qualifications include: Possession of a California POST basic Certificate and work experience as a sworn officer, OR graduation from a POST certified basic academy within the last three years; possession of or ability to posses a California class C drivers license; a minimum of 21 years of age at the time of appointment; and good physical and mental health as required by POST standards.

Finance Director Recruitment

The City of Gridley, a vibrant and charming community with 7,000 residents, 60 miles north of Sacramento, is seeking a new Finance Director.  The salary range is $96,816 - $117,684. The City offers an attractive benefits package including CalPERS Retirement, medical (with minimal employee contribution), dental, and vision. The City does not participate in Social Security. 

This is an outstanding opportunity for a hands-on Finance Director with a breadth of financial services experience.  Our Team is looking for a leader with technical competence and a strong service orientation, who inspires teamwork, builds positive relationships, maintains a productive work environment, and has a can-do attitude.

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical method to obtain the required qualifications would be a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration, or a related field and four years of experience in a responsible financial capacity involving responsibility for the planning, organizing, and execution of a varied financial program in governmental accounting and financial reporting, including two years of supervisory experience. Designation as a CPA or Master’s degree is desirable.  The City offers an attractive benefits package including CalPERS Retirement, medical, dental, and vision. The City does not participate in Social Security.
